Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) fosters opportunities for the region's workforce and future leaders to connect, engage, advance, and lead. King and Farrell Law proudly shares this vision for a vibrant future on Cape Cod and is honored to be a member of this organization. Meagan King is an active community volunteer and is a member of the Committee for Professional Advancement, and along with the King and Farrell Law team, participates in the annual Back to Business Bash, Shape the Cape Summit, and the various networking events they host throughout the year.
Previous Board Member and Volunteer of the Massachusetts Young Lawyer Division
The Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the legal profession and the public by promoting the administration of justice, legal education, professional excellence, and respect for the law. As a voluntary association, the MBA represents a diverse group of attorneys, judges, and legal professionals across the Commonwealth. Meagan King served three years as delegate for Barnstable, Duke, and Nantucket Counties on MBA Young Lawyer Division Board of Directors. She continues to volunteer her time to their Dial-A-Lawyer program, assisting community members by providing legal guidance over the phone.
Massachusetts Bar Association Mock Trial Committee
As a active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA), Meagan King is currently in her second year as an attorney coach for the Mock Trial Program. This statewide initiative aims to educate high school students about legal principles, courtroom procedures, and the judicial system, while offering them valuable opportunities to develop their skills as attorneys and witnesses in a simulated courtroom competition.
Department of Children and Families
Meagan King serves as a community volunteer on a panel for the Department of Children and Families (DCF), making a significant impact in the lives of children. This three-member case review panel assesses whether a child's safety is at risk, determines the necessity of continued placement, and evaluates progress toward securing a permanent living situation.
Barnstable County Bar Association
Our attorneys are proud members of the Barnstable County Bar Association (BCBA), an organization with a longstanding commitment to serving the legal profession and the public on Cape Cod. The BCBA is dedicated to improving the administration of justice, enhancing professionalism within the bar, advancing the interests of the profession, educating members and the public about the law, and improving access to justice in the community.
Supporting Women of Cape Cod with WE CAN
Meagan King is committed to fostering a positive impact within the community through her active volunteer work with WE CAN, where she provides legal assistance in one-on-one sessions for women. WE CAN is an exceptional community organization that empowers women through mentoring, networking, education, and support services. We fully align with WE CAN’s mission to uplift and empower women in our region.
